New Eyes

Again, recluctance to get on the computer and dedicate an hour to blogging got the best of me. Lots of awesome stuff has been going on, breaking the consistency could end up breaking the chain - yanno? I changed a few things around the blog, and figured that I would change the top banner every once in a while to spice things up a little (which seems to be much easier than re-decorating).

When the ProBowl vacationers left to return to from whence they came (thank God), it became really quiet around here. Less smokers, less drinkers, less congestion. My heart would give a little squeeze when I would see Steeler-gear on people, entire-clad families sometimes!

One day, we went to the North Shore to get away from the knuckleheads (game day). It was almost necessary at that point to get away from the crowded restaurants and streets, confuzzled tourist drivers. Wave watching and sand rolling? Perfect.

The next we climbed that ridiculous mountain of stairs again (that was 2x in week, having gone on the 2nd and the 9th) and were blessed to have seen about 7 different whales breaching in the ocean. It was ridiculously hard to get the camera to catch a photo - not only were the whales hundreds of yards away, but when they are swimming you never know how often they'll come out of the water, or how far.

But that really didn't spare much because living in Waikiki around one of the biggest love-days (Valentines) could/would have been silly. We probably would have had to have waited 2 hours for pizza delivery (I'm being sarcastic). Instead, we spent it new truck shopping with which I was perfectly fine. Titans, Silverados, F150s, FourRunners, Rams, love love love. We went home after 8 hours, still in the Jetta, tired, but not after having stopped at our friendly neighborhood store - Don Quijote, and I came home with a new pair of eyeballs: a Canon Rebel XTi. EEEeeeEeeeeEee!!! So from this moment forward, any photo that I post will be fucking beautiful. The camera basically waves a magical wand over photos that you take, douses them in "pretty," and voila! You're a photographer.

Prime example will be the pictures that were taken the next afternoon when we took a walk to the park. Troy Polamalu was hanging out and eating breakfast with his family at the restaurant adjacent to our building WHICH WAS AWESOME:
